Covid-19 - Flinders Yacht Club Update 19th November 2021This morning we woke up with significantly eased covid safe settings and now are operating under Phase D of the roadmap.
Fundamental changes to the sport are:
Vaccination requirements don't apply to people involved in community sport. Community sport refers to competitions and training for competition overseen by a state sporting association or equivalent governing body. This includes entry-level programs (for example, tackers, learn to sail) and volunteers assisting with the sport.
Please note that during the sanctioned training sessions, unvaccinated participants are permitted to access toilet facilities within the clubrooms. However, once the 'community sport' session has ended, access to pavilions is only permitted to those who are fully vaccinated (i.e., the clubrooms are opened for hospitality / social purposes).
All Clubs must ensure that their Covid safe plans are up-to-date and QR Codes are displayed and accessible with all attendees required to CHECK-IN using the Service Victoria App. For further information, head to https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/how-we-live
Please see the FYC Covid-19 conditions of entry document link for full details. LINK: FYC-Conditions-of-Entry-Covid-19-11-2021.pdf
As per government regulations our Covid Marshalls are required to sight proof of your vaccination (or valid exemption) as you check into the Club. This could be in the form of a digital certificate, vaccination link to your Services Victoria App (easiest) or a printed certificate.
We request that members who intend accessing the Club on a regular basis provide a copy of their Covid Certificate in order to reduce the necessity of Covid Marshalls having to sight proof of your vaccination (or valid exemption) every time you frequent the Club. These vaccination certificates should be Emailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org (all member details will be kept Private and Confidential)
We hope members understand the need for the Club to abide by these Covid management requirements and assist our volunteers with their implementation.
As government directives are updated, we will keep you informed.
Members are reminded that they should not attend the club at any time if they are experiencing any flu like symptoms or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19.Please support our COVID-Safe Officers in their efforts to keep us all safe when sailing and socialising.
